	It must have been stupidity. I don't think anyone would mean enough to pull a prank like that. Unless its for revenge.

	Most likely he turned up for the event, swapped to the semi slicks and either didn't tighten them or the studs are not long enough for the rims and they stripped (only on a couple of turns), as one went the added lateral force did for the others (most likely the latter).
